Hi! My name’s Brian Park

I will be your guide on this journey into nurse entrepreneurship.

I’m 32 years old and live in Chicago, where I spend most of my time renovating a building I recently purchased, rock climbing, and performing magic at pediatric hospitals. In my spare time, I run Nabee Socks, a fashion-focused compression sock company.

My former occupation was as a critical care nurse, working in a surgical ICU. I was facing burnout relatively early in my career and instead of powering through or taking on students loans to become a NP, I decided to start my own company. It was the right choice for me and I’ve found so much love and joy in my life ever since!

Let me just say that I have no background in business except for selling Beanie Babies on eBay at 11 years old. So, I know exactly what it’s like to be completely lost in the world of business. My inspiration was my dad (read more) and all the other immigrants who were able to open their own businesses without English, Google, or any of the resources provided by the Internet. I figured that if they could do it, I could too.

Nabee Socks started in late 2012, through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.com and has grown to make $350,000+ a year. While this might not be as impressive as the millions that other online entrepreneurs make, I run the whole company by myself while traveling all around the world and working about 10 hours a week.

Fun Facts About Me:

I work for an amazing Chicago non-profit, performing magic for hospitalized children.
2. I accidentally visited the Syrian border
I booked a random flight to Turkey due to some poor planning and ended up in Sanliurfa, where I drove Syrian refugees to the grocery store with a guy named Marco Fux.
3. I love children’s books
Because we are all children sometimes.
